Employees value the friendly and supportive colleagues at Salvos Stores, along with the sense of purpose in helping vulnerable people and contributing to sustainability. Staff appreciate meeting customers and the local community, the variety of tasks with something different every day, and the flexible work arrangements that support work-life balance.

However, there are some potential challenges, including stores being understaffed at times, making it difficult to manage workload and process donations. My dream job became a nightmare
The good thingsMy dream job, love the whole concept of an op shop, something different every day
The challengesWas expected to run a large busy store with inadequate staff but we were smashing targets and upper management only concerned with figures on paper, no interest in the pressure stores are under. Not enough staff to process the constant huge influx of donations, store always filthy as no time to clean. Burnt myself out trying to fill all the holes so my dream job became a nightmare. I would still be there today if I had been given the help I needed.
