What’s it like working at Typo?

    AI summary of recent reviews
Working at Typo offers several positive aspects, including a generous 50% staff discount across all Cotton On Group brands, which is highly valued by employees. The team environment is often praised, with many staff members forming strong friendships with their colleagues. Additionally, employees generally report positive interactions with customers, contributing to an enjoyable work atmosphere.

However, employees face several challenges in their roles. The KPI expectations are often described as demanding and difficult to achieve. There are concerns about management support and communication, particularly from upper management levels. Staff members also note challenges with shift allocation, especially for casual employees, and limited career progression opportunities within the company, particularly after seasonal positions.

Not the dream come true little stationery nerds think it's going to be, lol
The good thingsOther team members were mostly great, and for me, at least, VM changeovers and stock flips were a lot of fun
The challengesDiabolically awful management who really don't like being called out on it. I was given a key and management responsibilities after being there less than a month, and throughout my time there, the number of team members never exceeded 5, which sucked for a city store

It was fun to work there but at the same I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
The good thingsIf you worked with a friend it was fun and the staff discount across all COG stores was nice.
The challengesManagement treated casuals very harshly and would always micro manage. if you didn't meet KPIs you would get treated differently or get less shifts. There's basically no room for career growth

Not recommended if you need a sustainable job + hours. Poor pay. Nice customers + good employee discount though.
The good thingsGood employee discount (50% on 30 items a month) Lovely direct manager that genuinely cared and did not overwork us. Customers were overall great
The challengesUpper management was terrible, did not care about lower employees. Poor work hours.
