What’s it like working at Swatch Group?

    AI summary of recent reviews
Employees consistently praise the supportive culture and amazing colleagues at Swatch Group, highlighting the professional and enjoyable team environment. The company provides good training and development programmes, with management willing to support further learning needs. Staff appreciate the work/life balance and flexibility, along with a relaxed and productive atmosphere. Working with luxury watches in a fun environment is a highlight, and management listens to feedback through excellent open communication channels. Additionally, there are achievable incentives and bonuses, as well as opportunities to move between different brands within the group.

However, there are some potential challenges, such as limited career advancement opportunities, particularly for non-marketing roles and those based outside Victoria. The workplace can be very procedure-driven, which may slow down productivity, and some HR systems are described as outdated. Employees in retail roles have noted that sales targets can be challenging to meet during quiet periods with low foot traffic, and the small team size means that additional hours may be needed when colleagues are away, which can occasionally affect work/life balance.

Come for the watches, stay for the KPIs.
The good thingsYou get to see and touch luxury watches you’d never normally come across, which definitely helps distract from everything else.
The challengesWorking at SGA felt heavily focused on numbers and KPIs, often at the expense of employee morale and overall workplace culture. There seems to be little recognition for hard work, as bonuses and incentives are non-existent, which makes it difficult to feel motivated or valued for going above and beyond. The environment itself feels very sterile and lacks warmth or a sense of teamwork, which can make day-to-day work feel impersonal and draining. With such a strong emphasis on metrics and targets, employee wellbeing and engagement can feel like an afterthought. Overall, if you’re looking for a workplace that values employee motivation, rewards effort, and fosters a supportive culture, this may not be the best fit.
