What’s it like working at SkyPoint?

    AI summary of recent reviews

SkyPoint offers employees a unique working environment with spectacular views from the Q1 rooftop and the opportunity to work with diverse colleagues and guests from around the world. Many staff members appreciate the positive team atmosphere and the chance to develop basic hospitality skills across various operational areas including food and beverage, events, and guest services.

However, employees have identified areas for improvement, including the need for enhanced management practices and staff recognition programmes. The training structure could benefit from additional development, and some staff members express interest in more career advancement opportunities. There are also concerns regarding the current compensation structure, particularly in relation to weekend rates.

A memorable and rewarding experience that built my confidence and skills within a supportive team
The good thingsThe amazing view, making new friends, being apart of an amazing team with a great work environment, and fair rotation of duties so everyone is doing something different everyday
The challengesWhile the training provided a helpful introduction, extending or further structuring the training period could better support new employees in building confidence and understanding expectations within the fast-paced environment.

An unhappy Team in a Beautiful place
The good thingsBeautiful Venue in a Beautiful location
The challengesVery clique-y culture, no penalty rates for nights or weekends, everyone here seems to hate their job and all their coworkers. Very unrealistic expactations of all staff. Managers are straight up rude to staff.

Outdated EBA. Hospitality work for unfair theme park wages
The good thingsEasy work in terms of hospitality. Good introduction to basic skills. The team members that care make it enjoyable.
The challengesTerrible culture and management. Linked with dreamworld and will always be held back because of this. Constant turnover, awful scheduling and lack of care for staff. Benefits are non existent - weekend rates don’t exit, disguised by an incentive scheme for an extra dollar.
