What’s it like working at Secure Parking?

    AI summary of recent reviews
Employees appreciate their colleagues at Secure Parking, noting the supportive team atmosphere. The role offers variety and diversity, with opportunities to work across different locations and take on new challenges. Flexible scheduling and free parking are valued benefits.

However, there are some potential challenges, including management being somewhat disconnected from front-line operations, training that could be more comprehensive, and communication between management and staff that could be improved. The workload can be demanding with staff covering multiple roles, and recognition for hard work could be enhanced. Working conditions vary by location, with some sites experiencing limited ventilation or uniforms not suited to the climate.

    Very Bad Experience, never again
The good thingsNothing good in this place
The challengesI worked as a valet attendant here for a few months and it was an absolute nightmare. Management treats you like disposable labour, standing in the sun/rain for 8-10 hours straight, and they expect you to run non-stop while only paying minimum wage. The worst part is the complete lack of training and support. They threw me the keys on day one with zero handover. I saw multiple near-misses with cars because we were rushing so much. Management is rude and never backs you up with difficult customers. They also expect you to work split shifts and weekends with almost no notice. I left as soon as I could. This place chews through staff for a reason. If you’re thinking of applying for the valet position here, look somewhere else. Not worth the stress, sore feet, and risk to your health for such low pay. Would not recommend. 1/10.

good times, great people, slightly below adequate training
The good thingsGood pay and loadings, though could be better on an alternative award as it has been in history (but secure is too cheap) Great form of exercise (be aware that Kerbside is a very active position where you will be walking 20k+ steps a shift and very rarely sitting) The community is fantastic and you will be taught your role well and make some really amazing connections along the way
The challengesTSMs at Brisbane Airport often appear reserved initially, but they become more approachable once staff feel confident and start engaging. While basic positions like pick-up and drop-off can be trained in a day, taxi feeder and rank positions should require full-day training EACH, especially at the ITB due to high traffic and limited space. Staff also need better training on airport-specific taxi fares, as maxi fares do not apply and I didn't know this in the early days. The uniform is not QLD summer friendly and I'm sure present staff would greatly appreciate a summer uniform. The long, thick pants and long sleeve top do not offer great aeration and the domestic pickup position is a killer in spring and summer
