Red Rooster (Reds) is Australia’s first and favourite chicken shop with over 50 years of satisfying Australia’s chicken cravings. Reds is the only fast-food company in Australia that now truly specialises in both roast and fried chicken and is in an exciting time of change and innovation for the brand. As a national network of franchises, each Red Rooster restaurant is an individual small business owned and operated by a local franchisee. Not only do owners feed the local community, but they also employ locals. Through charity and sponsorships these family-owned businesses give back to the community and are a much-loved fixture nationwide.

What’s it like working at Red Rooster?

    AI summary of recent reviews
Employees appreciate their friendly and supportive colleagues at Red Rooster, often forming lasting friendships in an inviting atmosphere. The staff discounts and flexible working hours are highly valued, along with opportunities to gain valuable experience in customer service and cooking. Many employees also note that managers are supportive, particularly towards younger staff members.

However, there are some potential challenges, such as inconsistent management practices and communication regarding rostering across different locations. Training can be demanding during busy periods, and understaffing during peak hours may create pressure. Additionally, pay rates are modest, and workplace standards including equipment maintenance and cleanliness vary by location.

Pretty Good, good pay, good conditions.
The good thingsLovely business. Easy to work for. Managers were organised and finding staff was not hard as most of the staff went to school together.
The challengesRehiring staff who were fired for being under the influence.

Never again would I work at Red Rooster.
The good thingsNot a thing at all. Managers sucked
The challengesThe owner is so rude. Doesn't train us, but then complains about our work. Tells the other manager how bad we are, but then never tells us. Sometimes can't believe some of the things that are said in the store. It's just so unprofessional. Standards are terrible. Got expected to serve terrible food. If you want a good job where you get treated well, I'd stay away from here.
