Back in 1971, we opened our first restaurant in a Sydney suburb called Yagoona. Today there are over 900 McDonald's across Australia and we employ around 90,000 people across our restaurants and management offices. With more than one million of you coming through our restaurants every day, it's our priority to maintain your trust and integrity. To do this we make sure our customers and employees receive the respect they deserve. What’s it like working at McDonald's?

    AI summary of recent reviews
Employees appreciate the friendly and supportive colleagues at McDonald's, enjoying the teamwork and social aspects of the role. The fast-paced environment helps develop valuable skills in communication, customer service, and time management. McDonald's is recognised as a good first job that builds confidence, with training provided and benefits including discounted food and provided uniforms.

However, there are some potential challenges, such as inconsistent rostering that can limit shifts and income, and management that may be inconsistent or show favouritism. Some stores have training gaps with a learn-as-you-go approach, and the fast-paced environment during peak hours can be demanding. Additionally, workplace culture can sometimes be cliquey, and employees may encounter challenging customer interactions, though skills to handle these develop over time.

Great for furthering skills and allowed me to gain confidence.
The good thingsThe skills I had learnt from this role ultimately allowed me to have further opportunities in the workforce and gave me the confidence to work in a high-paced environment.
The challengesI sometimes found negative customer interactions to be hard to navigate at first. However, as I got further into my role as a crew member, I began to have the skills to navigate these interactions more professionally.
