What’s it like working at Kidstuff?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees enjoy working with the fun and engaging products at Kidstuff, particularly the range of educational toys that bring joy to customers and children. The in-store team is frequently praised as supportive, passionate, and lovely to work with, creating a positive environment. Many appreciate their store managers for being caring and encouraging, and value the 30% staff discount as a generous benefit. The thorough product training and comprehensive policies help employees feel prepared for their roles, and interacting with customers, especially seeing children's excitement, is a highlight of the job.

However, there are some potential challenges, including concerns about upper management communication and disconnect from in-store realities. The workload can be demanding, with employees managing multiple tasks often with limited support. Shift allocation can be inconsistent, with most roles being casual, making it challenging to secure stable income and career advancement opportunities are limited. Stock levels can be overwhelming at times, creating organisational challenges, and employees have noted frequent management changes at head office level.

Nice meeting new staff, horrible managers and lack of direction.
The good thingsThe people I have met. The skills I did learn as a keyholder
The challengesHead office is a total mess, And it reflects on their area managers. Was managing the store for 6 months and promised to be spoken about as store manager in new year, instead was undermined and behind my back all of my rostering privileges and shifts cut from me. Got about 2 visits from the AM within that whole time with very to little guidance.

    Don't bother.
The good thingsThe overall environment and floor staff are lovely
The challengesStopped getting shifts after being hyped up as an "Unofficial 2IC" and being told I'll have a chance to be a manager at other stores if I worked the new store for a bit to help out. No reason given for the lack of shifts other than "there's not a lot of hours" while they hired two new Staff both of which were 18/19, while the older staff were given less hours or pushed out entirely in my case. I'm still technically employed as far as I'm aware, haven't had a shift in over 2 months Kidstuff (they won't tell you until you're hired it seems) only offer two Roles unless you're higher management, Casual and Manager.
