What’s it like working at Trek Australia?

    AI summary of recent reviews
Employees appreciate the generous staff discount that covers Trek brands and third-party products, as well as the positive relationships with colleagues. The brand culture, goals, and values from the US are viewed favourably by staff members.

However, there are some potential challenges, including the need for stronger leadership and management support with clearer direction, expectations to work outside of paid hours, role responsibilities not always matching compensation, improved communication between stores and head office regarding stock and KPIs, and clearer career progression pathways.

Depressing, and a waste of time.
    The good thingsDiscounted equipment
The challengesTerrible pay, corporate culture nightmare, plenty of yes men/women as that's all Trek rewards.

Great staff discount structure but operationally convoluted and too detailed. Focus on wrong things.
The good thingsHonestly the staff discount is great and not only covers Trek brands, but other third parties as well. From the US the brand and culture goals, targets and values are amazing. But as these have not been, or are being, applied locally the gap is a bigger problem than benefit. The hype lures you in but it's not real!
The challengesOverall the organisation lacks leadership, management support and any real direction. As a means to replace these elements, the organisation has gone completely over the top with metrics (lag indicators) that aren't relevant. Instead of these, I think cultivating true leaders in their stores and allowing them to do what's right by focusing on customers would transform their operation and make it a great place to work.

If a company has a ‘great places to work survey’ it isn’t a great place to work.
The good thingsDiscounted bikes and accessories
The challengesBeing expected to work outside of paid hours and on days off. Made to work in roles without proper pay to match the role. Many staff were put into a assistant managers role without increase of wage. Managers and head office not listening to staff when kpis aren’t met due to lack of stock or bad ordering from head office.
