What’s it like working at Trustwave?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees at Trustwave appreciate working with clients who value security advice and are looking for practical help to improve their security posture. The company offers good benefits, reasonable salary packages, and opportunities for career growth and development as a leading MSSP. Trustwave's senior managers are experienced and knowledgeable in the industry, and the company has a diverse range of personalities with genuine expertise and skills, attracted by its values. The Canberra office has a good quality fitout after recent renovations, and employees enjoy flexible working hours and a relaxed environment.

However, there are some potential challenges, such as clients with limited budgets for security services, the bumps along the way during the acquisition and integration of Hivint, and a high work tempo due to growth and increased work, requiring additional recruitment efforts. The non-hierarchical consulting structure may require employees to use their relationship and organising skills to get things done, and employees may need to work on-site at client premises that vary in quality and location. Some employees have expressed concerns about excessive micromanagement, unreasonable sales strategies/targets from certain managers after the merger with Optus Cyber Co., a perceived lack of clear directions for career paths, and a lack of resources to meet the demands of their roles.

Good team of people trying to do good things. Not perfect, but is anywhere?
The good thingsI work in Canberra with mainly Federal Government clients. Those clients typically value security advice, and are looking for practical help so that they can improve their security posture. So it is nice working with customers who want your advice. The company has good benefits, and reasonable salary packages. The Hivint team has good experienced senior managers in Nick and Craig. They are vastly experienced and seem to be pretty nice folk. Nobody is perfect, but at least they have seen a few rodeos and know their way around the business landscape. The Canberra office was just renovated and is good quality fitout. I also think that we do some pretty innovative things, and the values have attacted a diverse range of personalities with genuine expertise and skills.
The challengesMany customers struggle to afford all of the things that they want to do in security but that is not a unique situation. Many similar sized consulting organisations have merged, or been sold to larger organisations. this is also true of Trustwave. There have been a few bumps along the way, but overall the acquisition and integration of Hivint into Trustwave is progressing pretty well. The DNA of Hivint is pretty infectious, and good. Work tempo can be high as have had a lot of work and growth. HEnce, we are still recruiting. However, growth and revenue also provide job security + a choice of interesting work areas. It is not a typical hierarchical consulting org structure (not does it try to be), so you will need to work use your relationship and organising skills to get things done. That is totally do-able. There will also be time on site, and client's premises vary in quality, location, etc

Trustwave Holdings prior merger with Optus was GREAT and new appointed leadership / management team by Optus RUINED everything. Stay away!
The good thingsTrustwave as a company is on the right track to be #1 MSSP in the world. Company definitely has it's potential and many opportunities for career growth and development.
The challengesThe new \"integrated\" Trustwave with complete merger of 4 companies definitely has many challenges and paint points. Particularly with AU team with Optus Cyber Co. Prior the merger with Optus, Trustwave by itself was doing great and with great management / leadership team. The company culture was fantastic with great working / life balance. Since the merger with Optus Cyber Co. The new appointed leaders and managers have absolutely ruined the used to be fun and dynamic team and culture. Excessive micro management style and with unreasonable sales strategies / targets.
