What’s it like working at Scope?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees at Scope find working with clients to be the most rewarding aspect of their role, consistently highlighting how meaningful and purposeful the work is. Colleagues and frontline staff are described as caring, supportive, and passionate, creating positive workplace relationships. Staff also appreciate the flexibility in scheduling, which helps with work-life balance, as well as salary packaging and competitive pay for the disability sector.

However, there are some potential challenges, including management support being inconsistent, with some staff feeling their concerns are not always addressed. Staffing levels can be challenging, leading to increased workload, and communication from management could be improved for better consistency. Staff turnover is high in some areas, impacting team stability, and work-life balance can be difficult to maintain with split shifts and high expectations. Some employees also seek more clarity around career development opportunities.

Would not recommend working for Scope.
The good thingsI’ve made some great friends.
The challenges- Often understaffed - No support dealing with difficult Participant's (basically get told “this is the job and deal with it”). - Massive staff turn around and you’re stuck training them on top of dealing with behaviours and short staffed. - Staff inc Managers are moved houses often without explanation. This causes uncertainty with staff and participants. - Lack of consistency with anything. - Their investigation process especially with false allegations against you.

It could be great but management really don't care about anyone except each other.
The good thingsGetting out and meeting students
The challengesI work for METS, part of Scope. Manager favours some staff over others and treats accordingly. Its extremely toxic but and they really don't care as long as they they look after their own.

    Be careful of the promises.
The good thingsHelping people with disability. Some people are nice and passionate about what they do. Especially those doing the hard work at the frontline.
The challengesToxic environments. Unable to speak up because you get shut down or shut out if you do. Many unhappy people and teams.
