San Remo has epitomised the culture and tradition of pasta making since its inception in 1936, when it was founded by Luigi Crotti. Today, it remains a privately owned 100% Australian company. From its earliest days the company grew rapidly and was the first manufacturer to support and foster supermarket distribution as this new shopping phenomenon became established and grew.Manufactured in Australia, San Remo has offices and distribution centres in all main capital cities throughout Australia and New Zealand, and exports to 35 countries throughout the world. San Remo’s manufacturing site in Adelaide combines the traditional Italian pasta making “know how” with the most modern technology. San Remo’s Durum wheat mill is one of the largest and most sophisticated in the Australian/South-East Asian region, and was specially designed for the processing of Durum wheat.Source: This is an extract from the company's own website.

What’s it like working at San Remo?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees appreciate their colleagues at San Remo, consistently noting that co-workers are friendly, helpful, and create a family-like atmosphere. The company offers stable employment as a growing South Australian family business, with opportunities for career growth and training. Many employees also value the work/life balance, with work generally completed within working hours and early finishes on Fridays.

However, there are some potential challenges, including traditional management practices with centralised decision-making at the executive level, and communication that could be improved between management and staff. Training and standard operating procedures are still being developed, with employees often learning from each other. The manufacturing environment can be demanding, with hot conditions and fast-paced production, whilst working arrangements tend to be inflexible, including rotating rosters, limited breaks for production workers, and weekend work.

Not as bad as the reviews say.
The good thingsI've enjoyed watching change in the business. The business is certainly getting better for staff.
The challengesSystems, and Processes. Although everyone does their best to teach each other what to do. SOP's and proper training still need a lot of work.
