Strength in restraint, power in simplicity. A thought-provoking take on the classic Australian wardrobe, Saba’s superior tailoring + modern simplicity began with one man. Possessing creativity + humility in equal measure, Joe Saba rose from modest beginnings. From the Joseph Saba Shirt Shop in central Melbourne he became one of the most respected + influential forces in Australian fashion. His effortless + considered design signature grew from his focus on improvement + innovation. Half a century on, the philosophy of our founder is upheld in the beauty of our lines + the confidence of our cuts. The modernity of each collection speaks to the heart of the brand. Each garment is infused with the integrity + passion of the Saba name, established 1965.

What’s it like working at Saba?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees at Saba appreciate the high-quality clothing and product range, noting that customers love the fashion and styles. The staff discounts and clothing allowances are valued benefits, and many highlight the supportive and friendly team environment. Employees enjoy delivering excellent customer service and building relationships with customers. Training and development opportunities are available through events like roadshows and training nights, and the company offers flexibility with shifts whilst demonstrating understanding of personal commitments.

However, there are some potential challenges, such as varying management styles with frequent changes that can affect alignment across teams. Managing a store requires significant time beyond standard hours, and casual staff may receive limited hours during quieter periods. Meeting sales budgets can be challenging, particularly in stores with lower foot traffic. The expectation to wear current season clothing can be costly as allowances don't always cover expenses, and opportunities for advancement may be limited due to minimal available roles. The role can also be physically demanding in a fast-paced environment requiring strong multitasking skills.

Applicants BEWARE !!! Doncaster worst store. Concessions stores David Jones Bourke Street.
The good thingsThe clothes ranges on offer the staff discount, the customers we tried to serve but never did.
The challengesDisrespectful management , managers, not following up with new staff resumes. Prospective new staff to come on board never contacted or interviewed. Favouritism amongst members and favouritism towards existing staff to try moving forward to higher roles within the store or within the company. Existing managers only interviewing friends or family members, with no relevant retail or clothing experience over someone with existing skills outside of the company.

Best Experience of my life. Definitely a brand to work with if you are looking for career growth and want to learn about the retail industry in-depth.
The good thingsThe best staff members, clothing allowance, retail systems and operation, sweet customers, beautiful and high quality clothes. My regional manager is one of the sweetest and understanding person to work with. Even just working in store, every individuals get to learn and grow a lot from the company's protocol. The company organize events like Christmas Party, Roadshow and meetings for managers which are exceptionally incredible. Get an opportunity to work in other brands (Sportscraft and Jag) within the company which adds up great value in the resume and also the experience itself.
The challengesWorking alone and meeting the target budget as the store had less foot traffic and quite most of the days. During slow business casuals don't get much hours. However, they still had fixed days and hours to work at least few days in a week.

Great brand to work for tricky working as part of concession.
The good thingsSaba make clothes that customers really loved so it was fun and enjoyable selling the product. I enjoyed the team I worked with and the opportunities you were given to learn.
The challengesWorking within a concession at times was tricky as stock was limited. Working for the brand meant I would be asked constantly to cover shifts in various locations which was at times too much in addition to regular hours.
