What’s it like working at JBS?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees at JBS appreciate their colleagues and coworkers, noting that many people are friendly, professional, and supportive. Staff discounts on meat are a commonly mentioned benefit, along with full-time positions and opportunities for growth in the FMCG industry. Employees also value the consistent hours with minimal overtime and set shift patterns.

However, there are some potential challenges to consider. Management practices could be improved, particularly around communication, accountability, and follow-through on issues raised by staff. Pay rates are noted as being below industry standards given the working conditions. Equipment and machinery can experience frequent breakdowns, and spare parts availability could be enhanced. Training and onboarding processes could be strengthened to better support new employees. The working environment is physically demanding with cold temperatures, fast-paced operations, and repetitive tasks. Some employees have also noted that workplace culture could be improved, particularly around communication and interpersonal dynamics.

Action over talk, offering rewards for those who drive results in a dynamic setting
The good thingsPartner with the business to create meaningful value during a transformative period for JBS. The next few years promise to be highly impactful, if you're the kind of accountant that wants to add value - this is the place

Do not work here they will actively screw you over! Pay is terrible, conditions are worse.
The good thingsThe opportunity to work alongside some of the most experienced and knowledgeable tradesmen in the industry—However none of these people still remain working there.
The challengesPay is very bad and made worse by the conditions you have to work in. Roster is terrible. All made worse by knowing the pay and roster was once the best on offer. Management repeatedly shifted blame onto the maintenance team to deflect from their own failures and lack of knowledge to protect their bonuses. Tradespeople were left to carry the consequences, expected to maintain plant performance without the necessary parts, materials, or support. Critical items for repair were constantly denied to protect the “Budget” This budget target is also linked to management bonuses, creating an incentive to not spend money until it’s too late. This created an environment where doing the job properly became nearly impossible, driving away the very people who understood the plant the best.

Good for hours, but a very hostile and unstable work environment
The good thingsthey offer full time positions to working holiday makers
The challengesThe management style is incredibly aggressive, and HR focuses on finding reasons to penalize staff instead of supporting them. Job security is non-existent because the company views employees as easily replaceable resources—especially if you raise concerns about safety or fair wages
