Jay Jays are famous for fast fashion at easy-on-the-pocket prices. This youth brand offers an extensive product range. Jay Jays strives to be fun, honest, energetic, and individual and, above all, a great value clothing brand. A day in the life of working with us is pretty cool. There’s loads of new arrivals to try on all the time, an awesome environment where the tunes are pumping, and the BEST customers to hang out with every day. What started as just one denim warehouse back in the early 90's, has transformed to 200+ stores across Australia and New Zealand, with new stuff dropping almost every day.

What’s it like working at Jay Jays?

    AI summary of recent reviews
Employees appreciate the positive team environment at Jay Jays, enjoying working with their colleagues and interacting with customers. The staff discount is valued, and many find satisfaction in providing good customer service. Some employees also note that their store managers are supportive and protective of their teams.

However, there are some potential challenges, including upper management communication, where feedback may not always be actioned. The workload can be demanding with expectations around stock and visual merchandising requiring strong time management. Staffing levels can fluctuate, and career progression opportunities may vary across teams. Additionally, frequent visual merchandising changes can be time-consuming in larger stores.

It was terrible to work here.
The good thingsThe team was the only positive about working here. You get to see great customers and work with awesome people
The challengesThis company does not care about their people. They show no interest in helping their employees, or supporting them in any way. They take advantage of their workers and underpay them as much as they can. Working for the company itself was demoralising and awful.

    Slow descent into hell.
The good thingsWorking with your other team members, the staff discount and nothing else.
The challengesManagement will use you if you're even the slightest bit competent in your role. I was made to train new staff members constantly, while not being promoted in any way shape or form. Management will gossip about you behind your back, and executives turn a blind eye. They would simply rather let you go than try to keep you. Avoid this company if you have any self respect what so ever.

Only work here as a Sales Assistant
The good thingsThe discount was good and the other workers were good to work with
The challengesThe expectations on all staff to do so many task and complete them before the end of the day all while serving customers is only realistic in metro stores
