What’s it like working at Zara?

    AI summary of recent reviews
Employees appreciate the friendly, supportive and diverse team at Zara, with colleagues creating a welcoming environment. The fast-paced nature of the work keeps shifts interesting, whilst opportunities for career progression exist for dedicated employees. Working at Zara also helps develop valuable customer service and organisational skills.

However, there are some potential challenges, including variable management quality and inconsistent communication from HR and head office. The store can feel understaffed during busy periods, with high workloads relative to pay. Casual employees may experience unpredictable rostering and reduced hours during quieter times, whilst work-life balance can be affected by late shifts and weekend requirements.

Accurate to every bad review online. Little to no empathy towards the staff. The HR are the worst.
The good thingsLiterally nothing. Terrible head office managers. Horrible HR team.
The challengesThe lack of training. Lack of English proficiency from managers. Every manager is basically obsessed with their phones. Don’t care about the sales assistants. Zero empathy towards others. The worst of it all? Horrible, horrendous HR team. Each worse than the other.

Exhausting, high demand, basic pay but good team
The good thingsThe team is wonderful and diverse
The challengesCustomers are awful, higher management lacks a lot of empathy and we are paid standard wages and expected to do a lot more work than what we are paid

We definitely do not get paid enough to deal with the arrogant Head Office managers.
The good thingsVery busy and never bored
The challengesHead Office managers are petty, unprofessional and rude! If they don't like you, they will not tell you, they will just talk about you to your managers and never let you get promoted. When there are issues, they place blame on everyone else and never listen to ideas for improvement. They make the same mistakes over and over again and never learn or listen. The staff turnover rate is HIGH as they always find insignificant reasons to fire capable and enthusiastic staff. Managers at the store level make less money than the Australian average, and yet are constantly ridiculed and criticised.
