n 1892, Milton Florsheim began producing shoes in a small factory located in Chicago, Illinois. The first pairs of Florsheim shoes made by Milton and his father, Sigmund, were a remarkable combination of style, comfort and high quality workmanship. But shoes were not the only things Milton was building. He realised from the very beginning that a high quality product was only one of the factors necessary for success. A strong distribution network would be essential in making certain his exceptional footwear found its customers – entrepreneurs and self-starters in big cities and small towns across a fast growing nation. First established as a men's footwear brand, Florsheim has since evolved, launching a women's line in 2003. The women's collection demonstrates the same high quality, hand crafted premium footwear. Once again encompassing Florsheim's attention to detail, comfort and of course, style. Though the specific shoes may change from season to season and year to year, all Florsheim shoes, designed for both men and women, are shoes of distinction. What’s it like working at Florsheim?

    AI summary of recent reviews
Employees at Florsheim appreciate their friendly and talented colleagues, who create a welcoming team environment. The staff discounts on good quality shoes are valued as a benefit, and employees enjoy the flexibility of working across different stores with scheduling options that suit their needs. Many also appreciate working with the product, noting that the shoes are good quality and easy to sell.

However, there are some potential challenges, including concerns about management in terms of communication, experience levels and management style. Meeting sales targets and KPI expectations can be challenging, particularly during quieter periods. Some employees have noted that store amenities such as running water, kettles, fridges and seating are lacking in certain locations. Staffing levels can be an issue, with stores sometimes being understaffed and shift allocation needing improvement. Additionally, the role can be physically demanding, with frequent ladder climbing and a fast-paced environment.

Great time with co-workers on Shift but Managers/AM create negative environment.
The good thingsThe discounts and team members were a big joy during the shifts.
The challengesNo HR department, Lots of gossiping and bad mouthing from managers and even the Area Manager, Didn't get paid for the time it took me to close/open when taking those shifts, micro managing and lack of reality when it came to why sales weren't happening, lots of belittling and rude traits from the higher ups.
