What’s it like working at Duratec?

    AI summary of recent reviews
Employees consistently praise the welcoming and supportive colleagues at Duratec, along with the positive working culture and family-friendly environment. The flexibility and work-life balance are appreciated, as are the learning opportunities provided by colleagues willing to share their knowledge. Additionally, the company maintains a good safety culture with appropriate equipment and resources.

However, there are some potential challenges, including inconsistent onboarding and training support, with promised sessions sometimes being postponed. The systems and processes can be manual and require updating, though improvements are underway. Some employees have noted that management can be relatively young for their roles, and concerns have been raised about pay rates for certain qualifications and employee retention during quieter project periods.

Failed to deliver promised training despite repeated requests, then terminated my employment
The good thingsSalary was competitive, office environment lovely, higher management were friendly and welcoming.
The challengesA major red flag for new hires is the lack of onboarding support. Despite explicit promises of training during the hiring process, the program was repeatedly postponed. I made multiple requests to schedule these sessions, but they were consistently deferred. Unfortunately, this lack of preparation contributed to my termination shortly after joining. Future employees should be wary of verbal commitments regarding training that are not backed up by a concrete schedule.
