What’s it like working at Coco Republic?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees at Coco Republic appreciate working with beautiful, high-quality furniture and being part of a recognised brand. Many value their immediate team members and the supportive relationships they build with colleagues. The staff discounts are also highlighted as a positive aspect of working for the company.

However, there are several areas identified for improvement, including concerns about management practices and communication. The training and onboarding processes could be enhanced, particularly regarding complex systems. Staff also note that the competitive sales environment and high KPIs can create workplace pressure, while career development opportunities appear limited.

    Believe all the reviews.
The good thingsI enjoyed leaving this place.
The challengesThis is the most awful place I have ever worked. There is little to no training and you are expected to learn on the job with one of the most complex computer systems ever created. Even the management did not how to use the computer systems. It was 6 months before I learned how to enter a new customer’s info correctly and inventory was never correct so when you went to make a sale you actually had to say..I can’t sell this to you because it shows it is not in the store. The most embarrassing place ever to work. The KPI’s were so high the sharks would do anything to steal a client you were trying to work with. They expected us to move furniture for restyling or if a client purchased it. They do not take care of clients who have a service issue so basically everyone calls you to yell at you when the company service department does not get back to them. Upper management leaves all the time and they have no clue about the industry.

It was, without question, the most humiliating experience of my professional career!
The good thingsCoffee and a stylish showroom!
The challengesIf I could give zero stars, I would. As a designer, I would not recommend this company, not even if you are desperate for your first job or running out of money. And if you’re an experienced Senior Designer like me, never step into this place unless you want to find out what true humiliation in a workplace feels like!! There is no Head of Design, no relevant software, and absolutely no understanding from management about what the interior design industry requires. They have no idea how to build, support, or unite a design team. Everything is driven solely by sales and blatant favouritism. People with questionable backgrounds get promoted, while genuinely skilled professionals are overlooked and disadvantaged. You can complain, you can raise issues, you can confront problems directly — nothing changes unless you take things down a legal path. After spending nine months there, I won’t even include this role on my CV. It has been the worst professional experience of my career! Stay away!

Management has formed a tight, exclusive insular group. "The Freedom Fighters".
The good thingsAbsolutely Nothing other than a few nice people.
The challengesThe things they write about how great Coco is are all nonsense — just ask them about their staff turnover. You’re used and taken advantage of, and once they’ve squeezed everything they can out of you, they start the cycle all over again — without any genuine praise or meaningful incentives. If there is an incentive, they find a way to short-change you. Swimming with sharks offers a higher chance of survival.
