Blue Illusion was founded in 1986 by Donna and her late husband Danny Guest and began its journey by creating pure cotton garments and corporate casual wear. As the business grew, so did their dream. The dream? To create a French-inspired boutique that not only celebrates the spirit, creativity and generosity of women at heart. Guided by the pillars of Fashion, Community and Lifestyle, Blue Illusion offers a personalised styling experience with exceptional customer service. Today, over 37 years later, Blue Illusion is a thriving, French-inspired concept store across 100 locations.

What’s it like working at Blue Illusion?

    AI summary of recent reviews
Employees appreciate the loyal and lovely customers, supportive colleagues, and friendly team atmosphere at Blue Illusion. The high-quality clothing and boutique brand nature are valued, along with supportive managers who help with development. The monthly uniform allowance is also appreciated by staff.

However, there are some potential challenges, including difficulty meeting sales budgets, outdated IT systems requiring upgrades, and unrealistic management expectations with heavy workloads. Career progression opportunities appear limited, compensation may be below market rates, and there is an old-fashioned approach to working arrangements. Staff turnover has been notably high in recent years.

UPS & Downs more downs unfortunately.
The good thingsBrand awareness from existing loyal customers. Boutique, not fast fashion.
The challengesMeeting store budgets , difficult to make a bonus customers waiting for discount vouchers all the time …software system is slow. Uniform pieces are pre selected and you choose a few pieces, end up constantly buying extra items as the wait for the next allowance can be lengthy.
