Not worth it. Explore other options.
The good thingsA handful of intelligent, passionate and hardworking people. Made some life-long friends and we were able to bond over our shared trauma of working here.
The challenges1. The organisation has not kept pace culturally, technologically or ethically. Inflexible work arrangements disproportionately disadvantage women -especially troubling in an already male-dominated industry. 2. Opportunities do not appear to be awarded consistently on merit, capability or performance. If you want technically challenging work or to progress through demonstrated skill, look elsewhere. Social assimilation appears to be the real key to success, alongside the usual internal connections and nepotism. 3. There is little evidence of a “just culture,” despite it being promoted as a core value. Management can be quick to dismiss inequity as “life being unfair,” rather than acknowledging or addressing how their own decisions create it.
