What’s it like working at Windsor Smith?

    AI summary of recent reviews
Employees appreciate their colleagues, consistently describing them as friendly and supportive, with many forming genuine friendships. The busy store environment keeps work engaging, and customer interactions are generally positive.

However, there are some potential challenges, including limited training and onboarding support, with employees expected to learn quickly. Communication from upper management can be challenging, and employees often work alone in-store whilst managing multiple responsibilities. Camera monitoring is used for oversight, staff discounts may not be available, and staff turnover is notably high.

worst company i’ve ever worked for
The good thingsLiterally nothing, not a welcoming space
The challengesI’d just like to start from saying before I worked here I came from a very popular chain brand, I had 4 years of retail experience with a REAL company. This company does not know real retail. Firstly, there was no health & safety training. There is also no online modules or training, you are expected to just show up and act like you already work there and know their systems/policies. Basically show you something once and expect you to just pick it up. No training or knowledge provided on products, then they expect you to sell it with expertise. Nothing felt good enough, constantly critiqued on service and watched. Condescending comments as if you are a mind reader when training. Felt like I could not be myself in there. Judged on appearance. Bombarded with cashing up information as a casual, expecting you to do it yourself so quickly. I genuinely can’t believe how bad this place was, my mental health was terrible before and after shifts. I am so experienced in retail and felt reduced

Not a good experience, and would strongly advise staying away from working here.
The good thingsThe staff were friendly and nice
The challengesFrom my experience i got let go after 3 days with no valid good reason, even though I tried my best serving customers and Visual merchandising. Before getting let go, I was told that I was not following their expectations, and head management advised to let me go. I was confused as to how the head managment know i was working what times. I also applied for a casual position, but was given shifts like I was working full-time.
