What’s it like working at Vicinity Centres?

    AI summary of recent reviews
Employees appreciate the flexible working arrangements at Vicinity Centres, including hybrid working models and work from home options. The work/life balance is generally good with reasonable hours and perks like birthday leave. Many value their immediate colleagues who are friendly and cooperative, as well as the convenient locations of the shopping centres.

However, there are some potential challenges, including concerns about management and leadership with reports of limited support and communication in some areas. Office politics can be present in certain teams, and career progression opportunities may be limited. Some employees have experienced cultural challenges within specific teams, and workload and pressure can be significant with increasing expectations. There also appears to be a disconnect between upper management and ground floor staff regarding transparency and resource allocation.

    Stressful, overworked and underpaid
The good thingsGood to have a hybrid working model.
The challenges- A lot of office politics. - Lots of additional hours. - Poor leadership. - Very inflexible about moving your work from home days if you have appointments or need to leave early, you're encouraged to take the day as leave. - A very stressful environment

The job would be great for someone aged 18-23 because if you’re any older you will be alienated
The good thingsThe best part of the job is being able to walk away from the “team” to go and collect a parcel
The challengesVery unwelcoming team who will not accept a new person. Absolutely terrible culture that will make you question if it’s you that’s not kind

Bad culture, no career progression and an office void of fresh ideas.
The good thingsThe location was convenient to me and I had flexibility to work from home.
The challengesI lost every last ounce of confidence I had in this place. The culture is the worst I have ever dealt with, people will throw you to the wolves to protect themselves. The only way to survive is be a yes man inside and leave work at the door when you leave.
