What’s it like working at Timezone?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees appreciate the friendly and supportive team environment at Timezone, with many noting that coworkers create a sense of family and make shifts enjoyable. The fun and energetic atmosphere of working in an arcade setting is a highlight, along with flexible hours that help balance work with other commitments. Additionally, employees indicate that pay and penalty rates for casual workers are decent and competitive.

However, there are some potential challenges, such as upper management and HR being difficult to reach when support is needed, with concerns about communication and responsiveness. Shift allocation can be inconsistent, with some employees experiencing irregular hours or limited shifts. Opportunities for promotion may be limited, and venues can be understaffed during peak times, leading to heavy workloads. As with most customer service roles, dealing with challenging customers is part of the experience.

Strong team culture despite weak management support
The good thingsThe on-the-floor team created a strong sense of family, always supporting one another. It was a great environment for learning and growth, even though much of the development was self-driven.
The challengesHR, head office, and senior management were often unavailable when support was needed, with poor communication and limited support for the team. They tended to prioritise the guest’s perspective and were quick to take disciplinary action against staff.
