What’s it like working at Lowes?

    AI summary of recent reviews
Employees value their colleagues and the supportive team environment at Lowes, with many praising the tight-knit bonds formed with co-workers. The staff discount, work/life balance, and opportunities for career progression are frequently highlighted as benefits, alongside supportive store management that creates a family-like atmosphere.

However, there are some potential challenges, including concerns about upper management's communication and decision-making, demanding workloads during peak periods with limited staffing, and remuneration that some feel doesn't fully reflect the work required. Additionally, communication from head office could be strengthened, and the schoolwear department presents particular operational challenges during busy seasons.

The challengesAfter dedicating over six years to this company, I was disappointed to see that, following a management change in the Schoolwear Department, support, trust, honesty, and teamwork had all but disappeared. It was disheartening to witness unqualified individuals being placed in positions as temporary fixes rather than based on merit. If you are seeking a workplace that genuinely supports career growth, values your skills, and respects you as an individual, this is not the place. Save your time and energy—look elsewhere.

Would not recommend working for any Lowes. Your time will be wasted and you will not be appreciated.
The good thingsSupportive store managers. Most team members were fun to work with. Staff discount is pretty good.
The challengesDishonest KPI. Upper management has appalling communication. Underpaying staff for the workload they do. Casuals having to travel far distances for a 3 hour shift. Store managers constantly reshuffled around stores. Career progression isn't guaranteed even after years of loyalty and hard work. Work life balance doesn't exist, managers sometimes expected to work overtime or find their own cover even when ill.
