What’s it like working at LD Total?

    AI summary of recent reviews
Employees appreciate the supportive team environment at LD Total, with helpful and friendly colleagues who look out for one another. Many enjoy working outdoors in parks and green spaces, and value the good work/life balance offered by this family-owned business with an inclusive culture.

However, there are some potential challenges, including concerns about management not always listening to on-site staff or providing adequate support. Employees also note that pay rates are below industry average with limited wage growth opportunities, staff shortages affecting project delivery, and the need for updated equipment and more training opportunities. Additionally, workload expectations can be high during busy periods.

The good thingsThere’s not too much to report on this.
The challengesManagement and supervisor. Beyond infuriating what was endured during this time working for the company. Early starts got later because of supervisor. Supervisor was late but when I arrived 5min before toolbox and he was there, I would get dinged. Told I could use company vehicle to take home and then taken away from me. Supervisor putting a bad name on me to management even-though a lot of fault / blame should’ve came back on them. Management turning a blind eye to these issues and not holding the supervisor accountable. Management refusing to provide us more workers when we were under the pump. Immense amount of manual labour when was told we would hardly be doing any of it. Just a horrific company to work for and experience. Overall, waste of my time working here.

    A complete lack of respect
The good thingsLocation was close to home
The challengesRocked up every day 15-20 minutes early, never missed a day, always gave 100% and didn't step on anyone's toes, went with whatever changes they needed day to day only to be let go because they "had full-timers coming back" yet they readvertised the role a day later and are still hiring. Have the decency to be upfront and don't lie to your staff.

The worst job I’ve ever had by far and I would encourage people to not judge landscaping as a whole based upon this terrible company.
The good thingsMost of the guys I worked with were really helpful, good to chat with and most of all great teammates. I’m still friends with a lot of them from my time at LD
The challengesWhere do I begin? Management was awful, they’d expect way too much of you and they wouldn’t give you enough support to get the job done. Senior employees were not paid nearly what they should be paid. They literally do not care about their employees one bit. It’s pretty clear that management gets all the fruit and the rest of us just slaved away and got nothing in return.
