Encouraged to commit, then left without shifts or communication.
The good thingsInitial communication during recruitment was proactive and responsive. The onboarding process was organised, and the induction for the Port of Brisbane was clear and professional.
The challengesI was strongly encouraged to leave my previous employment to secure a position at the Port of Brisbane, as I was told I might miss the intake if I did not commit immediately. Two weeks later, all of my shifts were cancelled without clear explanation. Since then, communication regarding future opportunities has been inconsistent, and emails about ongoing work availability have gone unanswered.

Im glad it wasn't my first recruitment role, as if it had been I dont think I would have ended up getting into recruitment as a career.
The good thingsSome of the team I worked with.
The challengesManagement and unrealistic expectations. Hours were long and on call even with an after hours team.
