    So much potential squandered
    The good thingsI had autonomy, some good international work mates and got to build a practise from nothing. Some good international travel and good wins were great as well. Pay was OK , but a little light considering the hours
    The challengesThe change in direction and operation over the past years has taken what was a great practise and brought it 'into the fold' of HCL in the region, which is not operating as a modern practise does. The way we had to bid on tenders also made us uncompetitive locally. There was a complete lack of diversity in our team and a heavy focus on margins. During my exit, they have also been a nightmare to deal with.

    The good thingsOne of the highlights of working at HCLTech was the level of autonomy I experienced in my role. I appreciated being trusted to manage my own tasks and make decisions independently, which helped me develop strong problem-solving skills. Additionally, the flexible work hours allowed me to balance my professional responsibilities with personal commitments more effectively, contributing to a better work-life balance.
    The challengesDuring my time at HCLTech, I encountered some challenges related to communication and team support. My direct manager was located on the East Coast of the United States, which created a limited window each day for real-time interaction. This sometimes made it difficult to receive timely guidance and feedback, impacting the overall workflow. Additionally, collaboration within the regional team could be improved. While many team members are skilled, there were occasions when support was not readily available during critical moments, which made it harder to resolve issues quickly and efficiently. I believe that with enhanced local leadership presence and a stronger culture of teamwork, HCLTech could provide an even more supportive environment for its employees.
