Toxic workplace culture driven by favoritism, politics, and deliberate undermining.
The good thingsI enjoyed meeting and getting to know some great people during my time here.
The challengesThere were serious concerns with leadership and team culture. Favoritism was evident, including management discussing deliberately overloading employees they disliked to pressure them into resigning, with the intention of replacing them with preferred candidates.
Knowledge sharing and onboarding were also poor. New members were expected to figure out business processes themselves while being immediately assigned tasks, often without the necessary access, information, or tools. This frequently meant working extended hours just to keep up.
There was a strong culture of internal politics and self-interest. Some team members appeared to set others up to struggle by withholding information or creating obstacles, then present themselves as the person who could resolve the problem. This behaviour seemed intended to gain visibility and favour with senior management, rather than support the team, and significantly undermined trust and collaboration.
