Soul crushing and absolutely demoralising. The relief I felt from resigning was indescribable.
The good thingsThe clients were hands down, the best part. Learning new skills and rising to the challenges within the aged care industry.
The challengesThe separation between caregiver and office staff, a disenfranchising experience of feeling devalued and unsupported. Not requiring employees to have credentials, qualifications, First Aid certificates or NDIS clearances. Not incentivising staff in gaining qualifications or furthering their careers. Self serving office staff hosting tea parties to boost their online presence and content creation. Unsafe work practices, not acting on reports and implementing preventative measures after incidents.

The good thingsOffice staff (team leader) is very rude. You are not paid travel to and from clients, hourly rate changes. You are not told until you have accepted the shift that it is a passive overnight.
