What’s it like working at Converse?

    AI summary of recent reviews
Converse employees consistently highlight the positive team culture and environment, appreciating the diversity and supportive atmosphere that often leads to lasting friendships. The company offers attractive benefits, including a generous staff discount, and provides career development opportunities through internal promotions and training. Many also value the management support and trust given to store leaders.

However, some challenges exist within the organisation, particularly regarding communication between head office and stores, with some employees feeling their feedback isn't adequately addressed. The typical challenges of retail work, such as holiday trading periods and busy seasons, are noted, and some employees mention that the fortnightly pay structure and salary fluctuations can be challenging to manage.

    Management team should be reviewed.
The good thingsfellow team members were great, management was the only downside.
The challengesThere needs to be more accountability and team reviews on management, so often they are entitled to do as they please with no consequences and have enforced a toxic work environment. Manager at DFO Brisbane does not know how to manage a team, only to assert authority.

Great vibes in store. Poor Upper management.
The good thingsThe people you met, have made life long friends within the company. Really good staff discount as well, 60% off RRP!
The challengesHead office is so disconnected to the stores, no communication at all, no room for feedback and even if you do try and give feedback about stock levels and product you are ignored. Then blamed for low sales.

    Company with good values.
The good thingsThe trust and freedom you get to apply as a manager. The company can make you feel valued and listens to what we have to say for our stores individual needs. There is a great team culture from our pillars to management on the floor which trickles down to the way leaders work with in their own stores.
The challengesYou really need to know how to plan and communicate to your line managers. You need to constantly look at ways to create opportunities.
