What’s it like working at BWS?

    AI summary of recent reviews
Employees appreciate the positive team culture at BWS, with friendly and supportive colleagues creating an enjoyable work environment. The flexible scheduling suits students well, whilst customer interactions are generally positive and rewarding. Staff discounts and perks across the Woolworths Group are valued, along with opportunities to develop product knowledge through training and expos.

However, there are some potential challenges, including concerns about upper management communication and decision-making. The workload can be demanding, particularly with understaffing and the expectation to manage multiple tasks. Many employees work solo for extended periods, and occasionally deal with challenging customer situations. Additionally, career progression opportunities are limited, and casual employees may experience inconsistent shift allocations.

It used to be amazing before but now it’s about share holders and profit
The good thingsTeam, customers and rewards
The challengesHeavy loads, management looking out for each other, no care factor from area manager micromanaging the list is endless having constant calls on your days off

Just be a casual, you’ll earn the same with no responsibility
The good thingsSometimes you work with good people
The challengesHigher management. There is 0 actual communication from area managers. Some area managers like to think they’re higher up in the ladder and forget their role, but then blame all managers and teams. They so go into stores to “fix it up”, even if it is making team and stores do things that go against their safety regulation. Extra responsibility gets forced onto you without a choice, and they then dismiss you when you are burnt out.

the work and pay is alright but you grow out of it and dread work fast.
The good thingsThe pay is decent for the amount of work you do
The challengesUpper management is terrible, and they have never worked in the field. When held up on the job, there was no compassion or empathy, only them complaining about small things like us being back too late due to police questioning.
