"This is IT" no it's notThe good thingsNo pros exist. Place is bad.
The challengesMy two years at BlueAPACHE were characterised by a toxic, demoralising environment. The turnover rate is staggering, with good talented people leaving constantly, which speaks volumes about the overall culture. Leadership is deeply unwilling to take any form of constructive criticism, often making the staff the scapegoats for their own failures. Instead of addressing issues, leaders prefer to throw people under the bus, leaving them to become the "punching bags" while the SLT barely show up to work, opting instead to go off and enjoy drinks under the guise of "networking" or "client meetings" while the rest of the staff are left to pick up the slack.
There's also been a disturbing trend of offshoring jobs, which has significantly undermined job security. The response from employees has been overwhelmingly negative, but the SLT, driven by short-term financial goals, refuses to acknowledge the long-term risks this poses to employee morale and careers. They're so focused on saving a few bucks that they've completely disregarded the impact it has on the team and the quality of service. The lack of foresight and competence is glaring.
What's truly baffling is that BlueAPACHE claims to be an industry leader and proudly touts the slogan "This is IT."
However, based on my experience, they're anything but a leader. They are a problem within the IT sector, and they're not even close to realising it. Their toxic culture, lack of accountability, and poor decision-making have started to burn bridges with their clientele, partners and staff. But it's clear that the leadership couldn't care less. All they're concerned with is the next time they can get on the beers, ignoring the damage they're doing to both the company, the brand and its people.
