Great colleagues, poor leadership & processes. Approach with caution.
The good thingsSupportive colleagues, strong peer teamwork, shared resilience, people help each other survive
The challengesThe company needs stronger operational governance and accountability from leadership to ensure employees are not routinely relied upon to make up for structural gaps & the loss of major clients. Systems & processes are ancient and messy. High turnover & regular redundancies.

Get in, level up, get out.
The good thingsThe best part was when I'd found another job, was in the process of writing my resignation, and then I got called into a meeting and told I was being made redundant. I would have left for free! I would have PAID to leave. But they paid me! That was great. Look, this is a pretty bad company. Which makes it incidentally a good place to learn. You'll be exposed to a lot of technologies and consistently have the opportunity to chuck yourself under the bus, which is where you'll do your best learning. You wont get a lifeline, you'll hardly get a thank you. But there are fewer places to learn to be a good desktop and infrastructure engineer than an MSP on fire. Just remember, its a deal with the devil, and in any deal with the devil, the devil is playing for your soul.
The challengesUmm being given a 60 hour workload and being told to do it in 40 hours. Being given a 300 hour project and being told to deliver it in 60. How the place was stuffed with upper middle managers who basically did nothing except go out for meals on company time and talk about how inefficient the techs were. Absolutely bonkers amount of MFA, all day long, wildly distracting. Terrible private data center hard sold to customers over public cloud (don't expect much Azure/AWS experience here folks), protected by a beurocratic team of rusted on internal techs. Backwards approach to flexible work (they hate flexible work). The resulting brain drain from all the aforementioned deal-breakers. And then the self congratulatory smugness I had to tolerate from senior management every fortnightly town hall.

"This is IT" no it's not
The good thingsNo pros exist. Place is bad.
The challengesMy two years at BlueAPACHE were characterised by a toxic, demoralising environment. The turnover rate is staggering, with good talented people leaving constantly, which speaks volumes about the overall culture. Leadership is deeply unwilling to take any form of constructive criticism, often making the staff the scapegoats for their own failures. Instead of addressing issues, leaders prefer to throw people under the bus, leaving them to become the "punching bags" while the SLT barely show up to work, opting instead to go off and enjoy drinks under the guise of "networking" or "client meetings" while the rest of the staff are left to pick up the slack. There's also been a disturbing trend of offshoring jobs, which has significantly undermined job security. The response from employees has been overwhelmingly negative, but the SLT, driven by short-term financial goals, refuses to acknowledge the long-term risks this poses to employee morale and careers. They're so focused on saving a few bucks that they've completely disregarded the impact it has on the team and the quality of service. The lack of foresight and competence is glaring. What's truly baffling is that BlueAPACHE claims to be an industry leader and proudly touts the slogan "This is IT." However, based on my experience, they're anything but a leader. They are a problem within the IT sector, and they're not even close to realising it. Their toxic culture, lack of accountability, and poor decision-making have started to burn bridges with their clientele, partners and staff. But it's clear that the leadership couldn't care less. All they're concerned with is the next time they can get on the beers, ignoring the damage they're doing to both the company, the brand and its people.
