What’s it like working at AstraZeneca?

    AI summary of recent reviews
Employees at AstraZeneca appreciate the positive work culture, with considerate colleagues and a people-oriented environment. They value the opportunities for development and career progression, as well as the compensation and benefits offered, including good salaries, bonuses, and perks like discounted health insurance. Additionally, employees find purpose in working for a company with great products that help save lives.

However, there are some potential challenges, such as issues with management and lack of communication between different levels of the organisation. The company has also gone through periods of restructuring and organisational changes, which can be unsettling. Certain roles, such as in production and sales, can experience heavy workloads and tight deadlines, which can be challenging.

A wonderful place for personal growth
The good thingsI developed a lot at AstraZeneca and worked with some incredibly clever and talented people.
The challengesI worked at Macquarie Park through a period where the site was preparing to shut down, and was saved by a large contract for product, the attention to detail of some of the site engineers and an intense programme of capital works.

    Toxic. Never again.
The good thingsPerks - good salary, discounted health insurance
The challengesIncredibly toxic environment. Senior management opts to let complaints pass and promote toxic behaviour. Cannot seem to retain talent in their CVRM medical team and that is testament to the poor culture and management. Numerous meetings throughout the day, so you're actually working well into the evenings. Very poor work life balance.

Little more than a joke really. I worked hard and was awarded and promoted, but as always - politics is king
The good thingsNot much. Unlike management, some of the lower end workers have a soul.
The challengesManagement have their heads in the sand and are incompetent at their roles. It is not a fair workplace in the sense that some people get away with anything, while others get picked up any time they step out of line.
