What’s it like working at Ashurst?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Ashurst offers several positive aspects including professional and friendly colleagues, modern office facilities, and an emphasis on creating an inclusive and diverse workplace. The company provides good perks and benefits, including work from home setup support and regular social events, which contribute to employee satisfaction.

However, employees face certain challenges including maintaining work-life balance due to long working hours, particularly when working across global time zones. There are concerns about role clarity during the hiring process, and some employees note that management communication can be challenging, especially with many decisions being made from the UK office. Teams sometimes experience high pressure and heavy workloads due to stretched resources.

Avoid Australian team - toxic environment with unprofessional staff and bad management
The good thingsEuropean team is actually good and professional.
The challengesToxic Work Environment - Avoid Australian Team The Australian team is extremely rude and unprofessional. Zero respect for contractors - treated like second-class employees. Can't ask questions without being labeled "incapable" or "needing hand-holding." Management sides with rude people instead of correcting behavior. Constant criticism with zero recognition for work done. Expected to work extended hours regularly like a robot doing everything simultaneously. Role expectations NOT clearly mentioned during hiring. Once you join, they pile on work that wasn't discussed. Complete bait and switch. No work-life balance. No professionalism. No support. European team is good, but Australian team makes this unbearable.

Unclear role expectations, no work–life balance, and a culture where one mistake can cost you your job.
The good thingsThe office is good - liked the concept of open work stations
The challengesThe hiring process is flawed, as job expectations are not clearly communicated. Employers often struggle to explain the role itself, leaving candidates uncertain about what is required. The work environment lacks balance, with excessive demands for perfection at all times and little room for learning or support. A single error can overshadow overall performance, making it a challenging and unsupportive place to work.

Will not recommend and won't consider working here again!
The good thingsWorst Culture. Poor treatment guaranteed. Have to work long hours to match global forums timing. Cannot charge them, and have to adjust hours accordingly.
The challengesRole description is quite contrary to what I have actually worked on. Lots of systems still on Prem! I was hired as a Cloud resource and ended up doing On Prem work.
