    Optimistically soul crushing.
    The good thingsThey have a lot of big customers, and the company seems to be growing. Every so often there's small improvements in things which helps over all. The management says all the right things they hire a lot of nice people. You often do get your holidays, which I guess can be a big thing for an American company, but is just normal for an Australian company.
    The challengesThings are very slow to change. For every small improvement that gives you hope, two more ... 'challenges' appear that tend to crush your soul. The pay is terrible compared to other local companies, and there's no chance of being rewarded without a lot of hours and effort which even so can often go nowhere. Failure to be able to make a difference in any sort of even token way seems to be the main 'challenge'.
