The Private Equity & Acquisition Financing team forms part of Capital Structuring within Institutional Banking & Markets (IB&M).
 

The team is responsible for originating, structuring, underwriting and executing leveraged and acquisition finance solutions for private equity sponsors, corporate acquirers and financial sponsors.
 

Working across a diverse range of M&A, refinancing and strategic financing opportunities, you'll partner closely with Coverage, Loan Markets & Syndications, Risk and product teams to deliver tailored financing solutions to some of Australia's most sophisticated clients.

As an Associate Director, you'll play an important role in supporting the origination, structuring and execution of leveraged and acquisition finance transactions across a portfolio of private equity, sponsor-backed and corporate clients.
 

You'll work closely with senior team members to develop financing solutions, coordinate transaction execution and deliver exceptional outcomes for clients.
 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the origination, structuring and execution of leveraged and acquisition finance transactions
  • Develop financial models, perform credit analysis and prepare transaction approval materials
  • Manage transaction execution workstreams including pricing, due diligence, documentation, approvals and settlement processes
  • Assist in evaluating financing opportunities across M&A, refinancing, recapitalisation and strategic financing situations
  • Partner with Coverage, Risk, Treasury, Legal, Loan Markets & Syndications and product teams throughout the transaction lifecycle
  • Contribute to the preparation of client presentations, financing proposals and transaction recommendations
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, sponsors, advisers and internal stakeholders
  • Assist senior team members in identifying new opportunities and supporting broader origination initiatives
  • Maintain a strong focus on risk management, governance and disciplined execution
     

We're interested in hearing from people who;

Bring experience gained within leveraged finance, acquisition finance, structured finance, corporate banking, debt capital markets, credit risk, investment banking or related institutional banking environments.
 

You'll also bring:

  • Experience supporting the structuring and execution of complex debt financing transactions
  • Strong financial modelling, analytical and credit assessment capability
  • Knowledge of leveraged finance, acquisition finance and broader institutional banking products
  • Experience preparing credit submissions, transaction papers and approval materials
  • Strong commercial judgement and problem-solving capability
  • An ability to manage multiple transaction workstreams in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong relationship and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A desire to further develop client-facing, structuring and origination capabilities within a leading leveraged finance franchise
