Shift Supervisor - Day Shift

We're looking for a hands-on Production Shift Supervisor to join our Pakenham manufacturing site. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being out on the production floor, supporting operators, solving problems in real time and helping production run safely and efficiently.

Working alongside the Production Shift Manager, you'll be the go-to person on the day shift, ensuring day-to-day operations stay on track while coaching employees and maintaining high manufacturing standards. 

The hours for our day shift are 7am to 3.06pm, Monday to Friday.

The Role 
As the Production Shift Supervisor on the day shift, you'll spend the majority of your time on the factory floor supporting your production team and ensuring your value stream operates efficiently. You'll coordinate daily production activities, monitor performance, troubleshoot issues as they arise and work closely with operators to achieve production targets.

You'll also partner with Quality, Maintenance, Planning and Safety teams to continually improve the way we work. Your duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to; 

• Supervising day-to-day production activities on the factory floor.
• Providing hands-on support and guidance to operators throughout the shift.
• Responding quickly to production issues to minimise downtime.
• Monitoring production performance and helping achieve KPIs including OEE, waste, downtime and attainment to plan.
• Supporting food safety, quality and GMP standards across the production area.
• Coaching employees on standard operating procedures and safe work practices.
• Working alongside Maintenance to coordinate preventative and reactive maintenance activities.
• Identifying opportunities to reduce waste and improve production efficiency.
• Assisting with training, onboarding and developing team capability.
• Supporting the Production Shift Manager with daily operational activities and people matters.

The Person
You'll be someone who enjoys being on the floor rather than behind a desk. You're approachable, practical and thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where no two days are the same. You'll also bring:

• Experience in a Production Supervisor, Leading Hand or similar role within FMCG or food manufacturing.
• A strong understanding of manufacturing operations, food safety and quality systems.
• Experience with ERP systems, MUV management, Microsoft Excel, and general technology/computer systems.
• Experience working in shift-based manufacturing environments.
• A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles.
• Confidence coaching and supporting production employees.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.
• A genuine commitment to workplace safety and creating a positive team culture.
