What’s it like working at Veolia?

    AI summary of recent reviews
Employees value the quality of their colleagues and the supportive team environment at Veolia, along with the company's strong commitment to safety and provision of necessary equipment. The work/life balance and flexible working arrangements are appreciated, as are the generous training opportunities and career development prospects available across the organisation.

However, there are some potential challenges, including varying management approaches across different locations, the need for clearer communication about career progression pathways, and competitive remuneration. Additionally, the company's advanced systems require time to learn, workloads can be demanding during busy periods, and cross-team communication could be enhanced.

An experience, which has scarred me for life.
The good thingsNoting comes to mind
The challengesA retaliatory and punitive culture, which does not value employee well-being. I strongly encourage all prospective candidates to reach out to former employees before accepting any opportunity.

Operational efficiency can be greatly improved.
The good thingsSome great colleagues in the other team
The challengesThe workplace lacked clear direction and support from management. The manager often had unrealistic expectations, poor communication, and did not provide the guidance or resources needed for the team to succeed. Decisions were inconsistent, and concerns raised by employees were rarely addressed. Overall, it was a challenging environment that made it difficult to perform effectively or grow professionally.

Decent company with good mindset but middle management likes to play mind games and do bare minimum.
The good thingsA company that tries to look after its people and offers a decent wage and the other workers were good people that took pride in keeping their vehicles and gear clean and doing good work.
The challengesSub par training and middle management who are content to do the minimum to keep their jobs leads to a disappointing and frustrating work environment knowing things won't change or get fixed always promising the work will pick up only for the company to then miss out on Contracts although it's not surprising just get rid of someone and call it a day.
Human ResourcesThanks for being straight up about it. Good to hear the crew was solid and that you could see we genuinely try to look after our people – that matters. But we hear you on the middle management side of things. Mind games and doing the bare minimum isn't what we're about, and it sounds like that's created a pretty frustrating situation where nothing gets fixed and promises don't come through. That's not acceptable, and we appreciate you calling it out. The training gaps and the pattern of moving people on – that's something we need to look at. If you're willing to give us more detail about what went wrong, we'd genuinely like to hear it. Could help us sort things out at that location.
