What’s it like working at Tronox?

    AI summary of recent reviews
Employees appreciate the work/life balance at Tronox, particularly the 9 day fortnight roster that allows them to be home regularly. Colleagues are frequently praised as supportive and easy to work with, creating a positive team environment. The compensation and benefits are considered excellent, with good salary packages, pay rises, and bonuses. Additionally, employees note that safety is a priority and the company demonstrates care for its workers.

However, there are some potential challenges, including senior and middle management being perceived as disconnected from the workforce, with decisions often made internationally. Systems, procedures, and plant facilities can be outdated and in need of modernisation. Some employees have noted that training can be intensive and learning new systems takes time. Career development opportunities within the organisation can be limited, and there can be challenges in implementing new ideas, with difficulty in securing capital for changes and some reluctance to challenge the status quo.

Used to be a great place to work.
The good thingsSome really good team members, good payrises / bonuses at the start.
The challengesA lot of staff role over recently, senior management are so disconnected from the workforce. Company doesn't care about staff mental health. Everyone has one foot out the door, better off getting a town job.

The most toxic and dysfunctional workplace I have ever encountered.
The good thingsNot many positives. Good roster- being home every day. Leaving was the best thing about the place. Stay away from the place. Take note of reviews from the people on the ground, not office staff.
The challengesNeed to be in the purple circle to progress. Disconnected, toxic and dysfunctional management & HR and it’s only getting worse. They promote a negative culture and promote people that are incompetent. Plant is old, run down and broken and not getting fixed.

Only work here if you're happy not seeing improvement
The good thingsDayshift roster is good; production and maintenance technicians are generally OK people
The challengesStuck in the 1980's re procedures and systems. Very siloed & toxic work environment. So much legacy / historical weight that drags down any efforts to move company forward. Great at starting new systems, but terrible / hopeless at completing anything.
