Enjoyed working with amazing colleagues; culture shift posed some challenge
The good thingsWhat kept me at Trend for so many years wasn’t just the job itself, but the great people I worked with. While there were a few individuals who occasionally created challenges, the overall environment was very positive. The free physiotherapy sessions twice a week during work hours were an amazing benefit and showed how much the company valued its staff. I also really appreciated the end-of-month BBQs and early-finish Fridays.
The challengesI started at Trend when it was privately owned by a respected group of shareholders. After the acquisition by an American company, significant strategic and operational changes made adapting to the new corporate framework challenging, as my experience had been shaped by the Australian work culture. I believe international companies are most successful in Australia when they respect local practices. Ultimately, I decided Trend was no longer the right fit due to changes in management, communication, and operational direction. I also realised that working under another American corporate structure would not suit me. While the pay was adequate, it was not highly competitive.

Too many changes made in too little time. Ruined a lovely place to work unfortunately.
The good thingsThe absolutely gorgeous friendships I made and wonderful supervisors who helped me.
The challengesManagement sadly does not seem to know about how a national reception should be run. Extremely outdated switchboard which was built in 2002, installed in 2005. A very ergonomically challenged workstation.

Since Jeldwen takeover my experience has been very stressfull
The good thingsEarly fridays are a bonus.
The challengesPoor communication, lack of management skills, severe lack of training, unskilled and untrained personnel in positions where knowledge is key.
