What’s it like working at Tassal Operations?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Tassal Operations is recognised for its supportive team environment where colleagues work together effectively. Employees appreciate the career development opportunities available through internal movements and training programs. The company offers attractive benefits including product discounts, and many roles are situated in beautiful locations, which adds to the appeal of working there.

However, there are areas for improvement, particularly regarding management communication and consistency across different levels of the organisation. The fast-paced nature of the work can be demanding, and some roles require long hours which can affect work-life balance. The aquaculture industry's dynamic nature means frequent changes, which can be challenging for some employees to adapt to.

Strong Team Held Back by Weak Leaders
The good thingsThe only positive is some of the team – good people who support each other despite poor management.
The challenges Don’t be fooled by the shiny ad – Tassal talks about values and culture, but Mission Beach is very different. Leadership is weak and inconsistent, communication is poor, and staff wellbeing isn’t a priority. The role can be rewarding if you love aquaculture, but under the current leadership it’s soul-crushing.

    Horrible place to work
The good thingsI was not able to find any.
The challengesWorking there has been the most horrible experience of my life. They have far more expectation from their employees. If they are busy, employees are not expected to call in sick. If you don’t show up on the day they need you they will not give you any shift. Team leaders treat you as if you owe them
