company does not care about supporting or respecting you if you're not a manager
The good thingsMy co-workers are what kept me going for so long, the regular customers, the discount (casuals get 30% off any time, part-timers get 50% off any time and once a month during the third week of said month all employees get an extra 10% off on top of their normal discount).
The challengesThe lack of support from upper management when I was getting bull1ed and h4rassed from the store manager. Three permanent staff members quit because of her and all put in formal complaints in less than two months (with two occuring within a couple days of one another) yet nothing was done. The manager helped out at another store for one day and all employees who worked with her at that store put in complaints about that shift yet still, nothing was done. The company only cares about supporting management and does not care one bit about the part timers or casual employees - we're too easy to replace instead of support.
