A toxic management & staff culture, lack of professional development and support.
The good thingsThe work itself was good, but that's about it.
The challengesManagement was the company's biggest weakness. There was little investment in employee development, with minimal training and virtually no opportunities for career progression, leaving staff stagnant in their roles. I initially enjoyed the job, but it soon became clear that a senior staff member and management was undermining my role and creating unnecessary obstacles. When I raised these concerns through the appropriate channels, the situation only worsened, creating a workplace culture where employees could not safely speak up. Overall, poor leadership, lack of accountability, and limited support for employees made it difficult to view the company positively despite some enjoyable aspects of the role.

Really enjoyable - great people, a company that listens and is on a journey to improve.
The good thingsI really enjoyed my time with Stoddart Group. At its core, it is a family-run business, and this is reflected in the genuine care shown towards its employees. There is a strong sense of camaraderie, with many passionate individuals who support one another and are committed to the success of the organisation. As the company continues to grow and further embed best-practice processes, it is well positioned to become an employer of choice.
The challengesContinue to modernise and embrace best-practice processes and standardisation (new ways of thinking).
