What’s it like working at RSPCA SA?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees at RSPCA SA find helping animals and making a better environment for them to be very rewarding. They appreciate the supportive colleagues, with a great team environment where people are willing to help each other. The volunteer program is well organised and allows volunteers to utilise their skills and knowledge. Employees also value the flexibility of hours offered.

However, there are some potential challenges, such as the environment being loud and distressing at times due to the number of dogs and some animals being unfriendly or neglected. Some employees feel there is a lack of written processes, leading to uncertainty. There are also concerns about management issues, such as a perceived focus on money over core beliefs, a dictatorial approach, and a lack of support or recognition for staff ideas and improvements. Additionally, working with neglected or injured animals can be challenging, as employees may be exposed to animal cruelty.

Very rewarding, and everyone is so nice and welcoming.
The good thingsThe people are very nice and welcoming. It is very rewarding being able to help the dogs and people are always willing to help you out if you need it.
The challengesIt does get very loud in the mornings because of how many dogs there are. Some dogs can be a bit distressing to see, and not all of them are friendly.
