Nice people, nice perks but no job or income stability. The good thingsRay's Outdoors generally has a nice working environment, excellent training and fun products. They encourage a friendly working atmosphere and reward success with a team member of the month reward program, a yearly bonus and a very generous employee discount. They really do try to make employees feel on an equal footing and part of the team.
The challengesSRG, who owns Ray's and other companies, prefers to keep as many employees on casual contracts as possible, indefinitely. Expect to see massive variation in your weekly hours, no set days of work and a demanding attitude to your availability. There are no career progression options for 99% of their employees. Don't sacrifice more permanent offers for Ray's employment. If you mostly want a chance for extra pocket money over the major holidays and don't mind being called in at a moment's notice, they are ok.
