What’s it like working at PPD?

    AI summary of recent reviews
Employees at PPD appreciate the friendly and well-educated colleagues, as well as the supportive managers who invest in their development. The company offers remote work options and flexibility, along with opportunities for promotions and career growth for those who work hard. Employees also have the chance to work on interesting projects with well-known pharmaceutical companies.

However, some potential challenges include a very high workload, which can lead to skipped lunch breaks, working late, and potential burnout, making it difficult to achieve a good work-life balance. There is also a perception that pay at PPD may be lower compared to similar roles at other companies in the industry. Additionally, as a global company, employees may need to attend after-hours teleconferences with colleagues in different time zones.

Reputable company but high stress job. Definitely not for everyone
The good thingsColleagues were friendly. My manager was supportive and invested in me and my development. Remote work options. All leave days given at the start of the year. Large and growing company, so stable jobs and opportunities for promotions. Worked on projects with well-known pharmaceutical companies. Office easily accessible with public transport.
The challengesWorkload was very high all the time, was often dropping everything to deal with urgent issues and always felt on edge. Frequently skipped lunch breaks and worked late. Pay is lower compared to similar jobs in the industry at other companies. Escalating issues was often frustrating because of team members and key contacts based elsewhere in the world. Eventually quit due to severe burnout and poor health.

Great company to join to learn and gain experience as they are the best but you need to work very hard to balance work- life.
The good thingsThe PPD teams are great. Well educated and do an excellent job. I loved working with my trial managers
The challengesToo much work and unable to to a good job in the time allowed. Difficult work life balance. Very metric driven without much human empathy.

Great place to work for a global organisation and gain career development.
The good things*Opportunity to work with global and regional colleagues and be involved in global initiatives - don't get stuck at just local level *Interesting work and career opportunities available to those who work hard and want them *The Melbourne office has many different functions and everyone is very friendly and the office is very nice - free parking too!
The challenges*Work load goes through ebbs and flows throughout the year, but this isn't different to any other of the CROs.
