What’s it like working at Peabody?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Peabody's strengths lie in its supportive team environment and crew culture, particularly at the ground level. Employees appreciate the family-friendly schedules that enable work-life balance, and many find their immediate supervisors and site leadership to be approachable and respectful.

However, the company faces several operational challenges, including inconsistent management practices across different levels of the organisation and limited career development opportunities for technical staff. Additional challenges include working with aging equipment, limited maintenance resources, and communication difficulties between Australian and US operations.

Can be a good place if they remove the dead wood in middle management.

The numbers speak for themselves, Toxic, High Turnover, Double standards, Management with no people skills, All the experienced good people have gone.
The good thingsThe maintenance work crews at ground level are great
The challengesUpper management in the maintenance department at Wilpinjong is one of the most toxic, unfair, inconsistent and have double standards. In the last two years 150 - 200 people have left this department. The turnover speaks for itself. The culture is hostile, morale is constantly low and being challenged , and people genuinely hate going to work there. Contractors try to avoid it like the plague. Instead of fixing the problems, management will drive out people trying to make a change, the good experienced workers have all gone next door. Unless there is a complete change in leadership I would strongly advise staying away from this place. Sadly some of the supervisors have slipped in to playing the game to be one of the boys.
