A great place to work, with excellent opportunities for progression, and a great group of people.
The good thingsPretty good remuneration, the work-life balance is good, and the job is challenging without being overwhelming. Interesting software on a complex tech stack.
The challengesProcesses and procedures require refinement (or, in some cases, don't exist). Fixing issues arising from previously poor quality control is sometimes tricky. It's getting better.

Small enough that you can make a difference, if you are the kind of person that rolls up the sleeves and gets things done there is terrific opportunity.
The good thingsA place where you can make a difference. From what I can tell (and based on other reviews you'll read here) new CEO has really turned things around here in the last 18 months. A new CTO and product team are also doing loads to improve some of the neglect that was apparent from a few years ago. It's a very family friendly environment, where it's ok to do your hours and have a life. But also, if you want to develop, learn, and grow there are plenty of opportunities to do so. If you want to take the initiative it is always appreciated, I've found so far. I have found it to be an incredibly open and reasonable workplace with plenty of opportunities to provide feedback and have a say in how things are done - which is rare in most companies. Overall, everyone is lovely to work with.
The challengesThe company is going through a bit of a transformation and there are always growing pains, some folks struggle to shift their thinking and change how they have always done things (human nature stuff), there can be a bit of a disconnect between ex-military (waterfall) and development and newer approaches (Agile). But overall, the company seems to be working towards finding the best hybrid approach. Some of the customers can have opaque processes and tech-stacks that make things harder than they need to be, but again the company is investing in removing ambiguity and finding a good way forward.
