What’s it like working at McNab Group?

    AI summary of recent reviews

McNab Constructions stands out for its inclusive and supportive culture where employees feel valued and supported. The company offers diverse construction projects that provide excellent learning opportunities, particularly for junior staff. The strong team environment and collaborative atmosphere are frequently highlighted as key benefits, with new employees receiving thorough support during onboarding.

Like many construction companies, McNab faces industry-typical challenges including demanding work hours and tight project timelines. While junior progression is well-supported, advancement into senior positions can be limited due to low management turnover. Some employees note a learning curve with technology systems, though support is available to help navigate these challenges.

Great place to work, hard to make the jump into management.
The good thingsCaring culture Expectation of performance Great management Varied projects Juniors roles progress well, good choice for a cadet, leading hand, apprentice, junior CA or foreman to build their experience whilst being supported.
The challengesHard to progress into senior roles. Management are locked in and the majority are highly competent, which is incredibly rare. Its very hard to make that next step and is the reason why I left.

Dissapointing experience. Unless you want to build sheds, not the place to be.
The good thingsProcurepro. Based on site.
The challengesProjects un resourced. 60 hrs wk. Do not lead by values - safety last, quality sometimes, care out the window when required. Management more concerned about turnover of $ instead of turnover of staff. HR is not your friend. Business over People always. Management don't listen & have a blame culture.

The challenges1. No planning 2. Preachy and non committal. 3. Manipulative. 4. No one wants to make a decision 5. Fear through out the workforce of senior staff. 6. Unwillingness to address issues within SPT due to fear.
